Chapters 4 and 5 of Age of Empire, talked about Politics in the nineteenth century of Europe. The development of the European democracy was a way to mend the bourgeois and the proletariat's conflicting ideas. The rise of the working class was on major key player in the change of government. The working class was working for terrible wages and under terrible conditions, therefore people alike started to band together in an attempt to receive answers. They succeeded in overthrowing their government. They than began to assign different jobs to different people in order to create fair opportunities and better working conditions. This also changed the methodology of the hierarchical pyramid, allowing new members to climb the pyramid faster now than they would have before if the people never united and overthrew the original government.
It was interesting to me to see how the people of this time united together for a common goal. When the goal was finally reached, (overthrowing the government) it will also be interesting to see the poeple, who were once united for a common goal, "de-unite" when power is distributed among people of the same status.
My question is Do you think the development of the European Democracy was the most efficient way to mend the conflicting ideas of the bourgeois and the Proletariat's?
